Volleyball is Back!

February 19, 2026
We're back for volleyball season-senior year edition!

Even More Knitting

February 18, 2026
I just love how this is turning out so far. Do I know what it's going to be? No. But that's okay.

New Beginnings

February 17, 2026
After a year of dating, by younger brother to his girlfriend Becky to Disneyland to celebrate. Unbeknownst to her, his Valentine's Day Disney trip was more than a fun romantic getaway-it was the scene for a very memorable proposal. Welcome to the family, Becky!

New Year Good Luck

February 16, 2026
One of my students gifted me a Red Envelope for good luck in the New Year! This is the first time anyone has ever given me one, and it made my day.

Day Trip to Paso

February 15, 2026
On Sunday we had reservations to pick up our wine shipment at Vina Robles. Our friends Brad and Jean have recently joined Hope Austin Winery in Paso (as well as being Vina members), so we decided to make a day of it along with our other friends, Kari and Will. We wanted to check out Hope Austin, since they have recently taken over ownership of the music venue formerly owned by Vina. Suffice it to say we not only did some tasting and picking up of our regularly scheduled pick up, but we also came back Sunday evening members of both Hope Austin and Opolo (Jean's favorite winery). Opolo also has a distillery, so we now also belong to that club as well. It was a lovely day with wonderful friends, with lots of excuses to head back that way in the future. Those wine shipments won't pick themselves up!

Valentine's Day

February 14, 2026
We celebrated our Valentine's Day with a delicious dinner at DiCicco's, followed by Beetlejuice at the theater. It was nice to get a little dressed up and have a little more of a formal date-not that we don't love our every day dates too!

A Spot of Tea, Anyone?

February 13, 2026
I love little thrift shops and the treasures you can get there.  My current obsession is delightful little teapots and teacups. Some of these will be used as intended, during a girlfriends get-together, but some of them will become cute little vessels for growing succulents (as long as I can keep them alive!)

A Little More Valentine Love

February 12, 2026
I got a delivery to school today out of the blue. My dear friend Kelly sent Valentine's care packages to Mo and me. She's pretty much the most thoughtful gift-giving friend. She's always picking up little things to give us 'just because'. It never fails to make me smile.

Almost Valentine's Day

February 11, 2026
It's nearly Valentine's Day, and although we have plans out on the actual day, I decided to pick up this cute heart-shaped pasta tonight to make for Rafe and me. There's nothing wrong with a little whimsy and romance! I'm exactly the audience they make these kinds of things for.

Boots

February 10, 2026
Tuesday Shoes Day is still going strong, with most of my shoes these winter days being boots.

Volleyball Tourney

February 9, 2026
Andrew's senior volleyball season looks to be a strong one. It is always a fun time getting to watch these boys play together!

Olympics and Books

February 8, 2026
Today was all about the Olympics and finishing my book (which I really enjoyed and recommend!)

Moravia Winery

February 7, 2026

We had a wine tasting outing with our friends Kari and Will and with Brianna and Shelby. The weather could not have been more perfect. It was lovely!

Senior Ditch Day

February 6, 2026
I always have seniors skip school on Senior Ditch Day, but for the first time ever this year, I had an entire class missing! It is the most unified they've been all year! (Well done, 2nd period.)

Art Hop

February 5, 2026
Lisa and I went to knitting class again tonight. I feel like I'm definitely getting the hang of knitting, but purl was a little more wonky. I'm feeling a little bit better about it after working on it more in class this evening. Afterwards we went to Art Hop, where we toured Fresno Ideaworks and all of the equipment they have there for members to use, including pottery wheels, band saws, and welding equipment. Pretty cool. We are contemplating a membership.

Early Valentine's

February 4, 2026
Today my AVID students delivered early Valentine's appreciation notes. The ones I got told me my classroom made them feel comfortable, included, and cared for. What more could I ask for? It made my day!

Some Days Just Really Work

February 3, 2026
I love teaching almost all the days. (Let's be honest-not every SINGLE day, because I'm human-but really, most days.) Today's lesson really just clicked and the kids were invested and had great insights and contributions. Even better that my L.D. came in for an observation today!

Book Nook

February 2, 2026
There is just something so inviting about a cozy little book nook. Everytime I see this space in my house it makes me happy.

Winter Formal

February 1, 2026
Last night was Buchanan's Winter Formal, and as usual Rafe was a good sport and came along to keep me company. I just love to see the kids all dressed up, and I love getting dressed up to go out on a date with Rafe, even if it is to a high school gym.

Feelin' Crafty

January 31, 2026
Lisa and I signed up for a mosaic lamp class, although it was slightly intimidating to start, it was fun designing our lamps and putting together the pieces to make our own unique pieces. We were both pretty proud of how they turned out!

Percy Jackson

January 30, 2026
Rafe and I are finally catching up on the new Percy Jackson season.

Branching Out

January 29, 2026
Trying to find alternatives for my chip addiction that are a little better for me...

Tony Stark

January 28, 2026
Today I got a heart monitor to see if there's any answers there as to why I fainted and broke my face. I get to wear it for 5 days (and nights), and then follow up with the cardiologist at the end of February. I call it my Tony Stark!

Pub Quiz With Brianna!

January 27, 2026
Tonight Bree joined us for Pub Quiz, and I think she'll keep coming. How fun to be able to do little things like this together now that she lives in town! We'll have to figure out a work-around for dinners there, though. They aren't big on vegetarian options. Dinner for her ended up being a giant pretzel!
