Danielle's birthday was on Monday, so we let her celebrate with a slumber party with several of her friends on Friday night. We had pizza and strawberry cake for the girls, and Danielle wanted to make 'mice sundaes,' which turned out to be really cute.
Last year at her slumber party each girl decorated an ornament for their Christmas tree, and Danielle wanted to do something crafty again. We picked out some acrylic paints and some small figurines, and each of the girls got to choose one to paint and take home. We also had some ceramic tiles that some of the girls decorated, too. They got pretty creative and had a lot of fun with it.
We also played lots of Rock Band. I gave all of the girls rocker chick sunglasses and they all took turns as 'musicians' and back up singers. They put on quite a concert, loving every minute of it.
Finally, I got all the girls settled in with a Disney movie to wind them down for bed. By the time it was over, the girls were all droopy-eyed and ready to crash. Without too much fuss, it was lights out.
Danielle and the girls all had a great time. She's got a really sweet group of friends, and I love how silly and goofy and fun they all are together--it made the party a successful one!
