Our local downtown area rented an outdoor "ice" rink for the two weeks of Christmas vacation this year, so we thought we'd give it a try. It was a tiny little rink, but far closer than the only real ice rink in town. We loaded all the kids into the car, complete with hats and not-so-matching gloves for each one. What we discovered was that although the faux ice isn't the most ideal, especially for the bigger kids, we make our own fun no matter where we go. Well, actually, we already knew that. We just reminded ourselves: )
