Pirates of Penzance

Our good friend Jeffrey Lee played Samuel in a production of the operetta Pirates of Penzance this past weekend, so a big group of us all went to go support him and enjoy the show. We made a whole day of it by meeting up for drinks first, and then heading out to dinner together afterward. A little New Year's karaoke, anyone? We had a great turn out for karaoke on New Year's night. Plus, I've finally found a great song to duet with my sister. We're gonna polish it up and knock 'em dead next time!

A Toast to 2011

A toast to the New Year: Here's to throwing out resolutions. My goal is to spend even more time this year with the people I love--my family. My family by blood, and my family by choice. So, yeah, I guess that is a resolution of sorts, but I'm not calling it anything. I'm just going to do it.

We Are The World

After quite a long hiatus, we got several of the old gang back together Saturday night to head out for some karaoke. Our regular place shut down, but we found another place--Thai Fusion--to check out. We had a great time, with the mic passing back and forth between our group and another group of friends at the bar. Everyone bonds over bad 80's tunes, you know? We tried a group number, too, to close out the night. Do you have any idea how long We Are The World is? Even longer than you might remember if you are holding your sides laughing, tears streaming down your face while your husband belts out the Cyndi Lauper solo.
