Our Own Cheer Squad

August 20, 2014

Monday we came back to school for two days of grade level/department-specific meetings.  Today, however, was our first day back with the whole staff.  I don't know too many places where you come to work and are greeted by rousing cheers, yells, chants, and ovations, but at my school, that's what met us when we got to work this morning.  Our amazing Activities Director, Marci Beddall, had our leadership kids show up in full spirit regalia, full of enthusiasm and excitement, to cheer us on as we got ready to kick off the new year as a staff.  What a great group of kids--what a great way to set the tone for the year!

Girlfriends' Get Together

December 29, 2011

One of the things I love so much about vacation is that I get a chance to see my work girlfriends without all the papers to grade and the bells dictating our time. We all got together at Alex's house, had a little gift exchange, ate food, and just had time to relax together. And of course, those with little ones shared their babies with us for the afternoon, too. Gotta love baby time! These girls are a great group of people, and I feel so lucky to get to work with them every day.

English Dept. Christmas Party

December 18, 2011

Holiday potluck at work with my friends and colleagues. These are some of the folks that make me enjoy coming to work each day. However, it's probably no exaggeration to say that on this day, Friday before Christmas vacation with only one class left to go, we were all at least as ready to head out those doors as the kids were.

A Restaurant is Born--The Grand Opening of Giuseppe Gallo's

June 19, 2011

After weeks of hard labor and lots of love, Giuseppe Gallo's officially opened for business last Friday night. We have loved seeing this restaurant being built up from its inception, and know that Gary and Cheryl have created a family atmosphere that honors love, laughter, and delicious food. We wish them all the best, and look forward to trying out everything on the menu! (We plan to be there a lot.)Miss Kathryn

Holiday Potluck at Work

December 23, 2010

Instead of doing an evening thing this year, our department decided to do a lunchtime potluck and Secret Santa exchange. I'm so lucky to get to work with all these people everyday:)

Spring Has Sprung and the End is Near

April 7, 2010

Things I'm thankful for this week:

Feeling rested after a week off for spring break.

Only eight more weeks of school.

Doug back at work after a long lull in the construction business.

The prospect of FINALLY getting our pool fixed.

A new nephew and a great niece on the horizon. (Great niece--can that be right??)

Nicholas bringing home a note from the cluster office yesterday telling me he's being honored as Bruin of the Month at a luncheon next week.

Having Thin Mints in the freezer.
