Live Music

January 28, 2022
I used to go out and see live music at least two or three times a month.  I had some favorite venues and some favorite bands, but mostly I just loved the atmosphere and, of course, the dancing.  Covid put a damper on that for the past two years, and even when venues started bringing back local bands to their sites, I was slow to rejoin the audience.  Tonight, however, I was invited to see Max Headroom--a long-time favorite of mine--at Full Circle Brewing.  The venue was small but inviting, the beer was good (I can't believe I found one I enjoyed, not being a beer drinker normally), and the company was wonderful.  My good friend Dave plays in the band and I got to catch up with him a bit before the show as well, which was an added bonus.  All in all, it was a great night.  I'm hoping there is more of the local music scene back on my horizon in the future.

Designing New Promo Materials for Cut Shot

January 28, 2018

The boys are doing a lot more gigging these days, so I'm updating their social media, banners, and merchandise.  I did the original banners and t-shirts, but it's been a long time and I think it's time for a refresh.  I'm still pricing and looking at the design tools at a few sites, but this is the first look at a few designs we're kicking around for banners this time around.

Cut Shot Plays Capo's

September 4, 2015

Such a fun night listening to Cut Shot play out at Capo's again tonight.  Unfortunately, the lights over the band's set up weren't working, so they were essentially playing in the dark.  This accounts for the poor quality of the photos, but we all had a great time anyway!

Sangerpalooza

September 7, 2013

We attended the second annual Sangerpalooza, where Doug and the boys provided rockin' entertainment for the crowd.  Although it was terribly hot in the afternoon, the evening breezes began to blow and it cooled down enough for dancing, which is always a good thing.  Photo highlights from the evening:

Pre-Show Preview

September 2, 2013

This is the last full out rehearsal before the upcoming Sangerpalooza gig on Saturday.  Don, the new keyboardist, invited everyone over to his house to practice, and he and his wife decided to host a little bar-b-que while we were there.  I got to meet Don's wife and kids for the first time, and we got along great!  She loves photography like me, and our kids aren't too far off in age.  It was fun getting to know her, and I'm looking forward to hanging out again at the Sanger concert.  I played around with some different settings on my camera during practice, and even did a little video.  I think I got some fun shots of band!
