July 6, 2011
Every year we celebrate the fourth with fireworks in one form or another--either we set up a picnic at the local stadium, launch our own fireworks with the kids in the front yard, or we get together with friends. This year we kept it low-key, choosing to stay away from the crowds and the heat at the stadium for a quieter evening at home. We grabbed the lawn chairs, picked up a batch of fireworks, and sat back while Doug and Nicholas lit up the night sky for us. The highlight for us, as it is every year, was getting to play with the sparklers--except for Bree. She was a good sport about it, but the sparklers scared her a little bit. The best part about that was there were more for the rest of us to play with!
Aw, poor baby! No more sparklers.
